Field Reports
5/2/00 - I've used the Bionic Ear with the Bionic Booster parabolic dish the past years while turkey and bear hunting. These are a big help to roost birds that you don't want to walk in on and spook. You can sit back on the ridge across from the roost area and hear the turkeys fly up. They are large and cumbersome to pack around, but I usually just have my binos and camera with me to roost with and I just carry the Bionic Ear in my hand. The one drawback is that they work too good sometimes. You need a fairly quiet woods to hear well with them. If the wind is howling or there are other noises in the background, it does get hard to pick up the animal sounds you are listening for. I have also used them to listen for bears on hillsides while they turn over logs looking for bugs. Bears tend to make quite a racket doing their foraging, and you can pick up the sound at a good distance. I haven't tried them yet to listen for bugling elk, but I'm sure they would help in that area too. The Bionic Booster parabolic dish does give you a sense of direction, by moving the dish back and forth you can determine which direction the sound is coming from. One and a half ears up on this product. - Jesse.

I use a Silvercreek Ind. Mach I , that they now call the CommandEar. It is small and unlike the Walker's Game Ear, you can hear in stereo. I have significant hearing loss (too much loud music back in my hippie days!!) and this product has made squirrel, deer, and turkey hunting much more enjoyable. Also, it is nice to hear what the neighbors at home and on the houseboat have to say about you!!! Thanks for your website once again. Homer F.
