Default Opening week of rock cod.

Marine conditions were descent so the wife , my daughter and son in law and myself went up to Trinidad for the opening weekend of rock cod season. We also brought 6 crab pots for an overnight soak.

We all ended up with a Ling Cod each and limits of Blacks. The limit is 3 because they are somewhat endangered ?? We threw back at least 40 of them trying to catch other species to fill our 10 fish limits. The fish picture is of our first days catch. We quit early because my daughter got violently sea sick , poor lil gal.
We got about a third more fish and crab the 2nd day .
The crabbing was ok. The last two years have been phenominal ! I guess it cant be great every year.

If you have never been to Trinidad Ca. You Have To !! The place is truly magical. I think its the prettiest port in the world.

Planning another trip the 1st week of June.

Nice catch! I've fished that area many, many times. Great memories.
