Thumbs up UPDATE: Slip n Fall - Almost Healed!

Saw ORTHO doc again 6-01. He says I'm essentially healed, like 98%
Gotta say... The BIOMET Electronic Bone Growth Stimulator really seems to have done its job!

    Observe:

Now I gotta start working on regaining flexibility and joint movement.

Glad you're healing up. That hardware coming out?
Think me not unkind and rude,

That I walk alone through grove and glen.

I go to seek the God of the wood,

And fetch His word to men.

I feel ya man. I am recently feeling like I'm emerging from a long painful tunnel of recovery. nice to be off the prednisone and pain killers and walking like a human again. Now i just gotta lose the 40lbs the prednisone added and rebuild the legs and back. Maybe this year I'll manage to hunt without crippling myself. LOL getting older ain't for puss*es. Glad you're mending up. Cya on the trail.
Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

The U.S. city with the most restrictive gun laws in the nation, Washington, D.C., has the highest murder rate at 24 per 100,000. The state with the most unrestrictive gun regulations, Vermont, has the lowest murder rate at 0.48 per 100,000.

I really want the hardware taken out. If I touch anywhere around where that hardware is... ICK!!I... It feels soo icky and creepy... and that weird sensation radiates down thru my palm into my index finger!

I'll probably have to schedule it for just inside the tail end of this year... so that I can go hunting... and then still have it all be within same calendar year so I will have met my deductible and not have to double pay. I got stuck with a $2000 out-of-pocket charge the day of the surgery. There's a max out of pocket for the calendar year so if I can get it done within the year *I think* I won't have to pay that the 2nd time.

Even if I ain't ready, I'm getting out there no matter what.

It's been all I've been able to think about, all this year long.

As I'm sure it was for you guys after your first kill :)

Ease into it, take a nature walk and admire all the beautiful areas the Deer are hanging out in, you got Kids? take them along with Mama and a picnic basket you'll get more time for Nature walks than Scouting usually.

Ugh... yeah.... this. Only one way to grow bones... n***a gotta eat.

Was going to the gym for a while there even with the Brace... but it's hard to do timewise for me, and starts compromising my time for sleeping, which is no bueno for recovery and bone growth... as I handle just about everything up in this camp.

My boy is only 8yo so I don't know if I'd have the patience to take him on much of a hike/adventure. I could see him being a whiny little B in short order. And due to massive shortcomings in my relationship... Daddy's patience level for BS is very very thing ATM.

The waiting and missing out is the hardest part, that's behind you. Now get in shape and go get em. Good luck this season GDog!
