If you can find where we hung this on the last day of deer season, that's where the pigs are. LOL!

Lol, don't know why it rotated! Thanks LT, everytime we've seen them there, they're hauling ass uphill. This time she and a few others were "coming right for us!" White Chevy 4x4? No more camo f150?

Well the only reason I post anything on the page Is to help the hunters who can not make here to scout around be for they come. I don't feel im saying anything wrong just giving them areas that have signs I get out a couple times a week to see what is moving ( willie 270 ) is upset because I said there was signs of pigs rooting around well I should of put that I saw 2 pigs in the bottom next to the private property fence that would of been better then he could be real upset. I did not no he owned the area Im happy for who ever gets something good luck to all

Thanks, RUGAME. I at least appreciate it. As I said before, I'm just thrilled that someone is at least seeing them....it gives me hope.

And It Is appreciated RUGAME, I am in the inland Empire a far ways away. I am staring pig hunting and am looking into the very small quantities in San Diego, not much hope there but I though it would be worth a try. I got some info from a San Diego biologist, but he also said to head out your way where the pigs where more plentiful. So with your general assistance I at least have a starting point and hopefully with some scouting all the hours of driving may be worth while.
    Thank you very much

I hate to ask, being an out-of-towner and all.... How's the rain treating the base and what are road conditions?

Oh, my... I was beginning to wonder why I wasn't receiving comment notifications after creating this this thread. Kind-of glad I didn't, now. Maybe I shouldn't have shared the info from Range Management and kept it for myself.

But that's not how my Grandpa and Dad taught me how to hunt.

    Hey OPAH,

if your planning to go venturing off on a public land DIY pig hunt shoot me a PM

I spent a lot of years around Camp Roberts, FHL, Coalinga, and the associated Public land.

we were just kids either in or a few years out of high school but we spent more time chasing pigs than puss...

Now I hunt Tejon and its so nice to be able to look back at the hard work and know it made me a better hunter and gave me a ton of lessons to pass on to other hunters as well as my kids.

Maybe someday I will hunt those places again but Id be happy to point you in the right direction. I really enjoy putting people on game, as a few members on here can attest to, especially if kids are involved. Last year I was able to kill 19 pigs, I shot 1 and that was on Fathers day with my daughter...

Wow. That's getting it done. 19 kills in one year. I see you shot 1. How did you kill the other 18. Maybe I read that wrong and you mean one of them was shot on Father's Day. How much meat did you end up with? Bbq time year round on that much hogs.

I am not a guide by any means, but Ive taken a lot of people up there to give them the opportunity to not only experience what I think is the most awesome piece of land in the state but to also learn about hunting. Of the 18 pigs that I didn't personally shoot I put the people on them, called the shot, and taught them or helped them dress them out.

there were 5 kids under 16 and the rest were adults both male and female. I could care less about actually pulling the trigger myself anymore. I still harvest on when the chorizo runs low, but its not gonna be in a deep dark canyon I can guarantee you that...

when I was first getting into pig hunting I carried a 7mag, Now I shoot a .223 and I am very picky on not only the location of the pig but the size and sex as well. even the time of year. I guess you could say Im a bit spoiled....

Yeah, its not very often that we aren't eating breakfast sausage or chorizo on the weekends. and I do have quite a bit of smoked sausages and italian sausages in my freezer...

Wow that's sweet. I'm hunting not far from you and learning all I can around here. I have one buddy that helps me out. The goal is to have fun and get my dad out with me. I have had guys offer to help get the Lt. Col out in the field. So far the fee is to high or the drive to long. My dad is not really excited about pigs they way I am. He is a Texas country boy and did most his hunting back there while still in the service. He now gives his time to church and friends. So it's up to me to get him out there some day. After I learn more about d-10, I may have a better shot at making that goal.

Supper cool of you to get all those folks out there. I'm sure the hunt is a big rush always. I have taken newbies to fish but that's about it. Sure warms the heart to see a kids face light up. Keep up the good work and be safe to there.

Thank you very much for your service if I have not already done so.
