    Default First Archery Bear (pic)

((Im posting these pictures on behalf of my boyfriend))

    Taken: D8 Area @ 20 yards

First kill with his new bow and also his first black bear. He wanted me to share with you fellow bear hunters. Enjoy!

Im still trying to figure out how to post pictures and my computer is not working very well at the moment. Bear with me and let me know if you can't see the picture.

    Congrats on the harvest!

Now let's hear how it tastes. I really like bear strap sliced thin, pounded, breaded and fried. Similar to the way ab is cooked.

    BOW
I had a huge adrenaline rush and I wasn't even the shooter! Haha I was about 10 yards behind him so about 30 yards away from the bear. Needless to say, I was scared!

Can't wait to get one of those skulls! Going out into D11 on Sunday for Bear Archeryl Hopefully all my NSAIDS can keep this muscle pull behind my shoulder-blade in check.

Wanting a bear soo badly since had those two face-to-face encounters last year at 20yds, then later same day at 40yds. Was first time ever seein gone in person so was crazy exciting! Going back to that same place, right about now whole buncha choke-cherries are bearing fruit in there.

I'd be a liar if I said I wasn't nervous about trying to get one with bow. But hey... how much badassery would it be if my 2nd animal ever was a bear with a bow! I just want payback for my wrist-break last-year while hiking into a spot for bears.

Gotta good feeling about it this year. If not bear, maybe bobcat from that area.

Good luck! We hunted d14 for 3 years before we decided to try something new the following year. This was the second bear we saw in this zone. We went back to d14 later in the season, because it's much closer to where we live, and saw 4 more bears that season, although the first 4 we saw in the zone in 3 years... Persistence pays off! Don't give up!
