Default So what is in this can?

So what is in this can that was given to me this weekend by a friend who just came back from Finland? Elk as it says or moose as in the picture or something else altogether? It is labeled in Finnish as Hirvenlihaa which translates as “venison”. Winner gets feather 2 pair of ear rings....what else?

LtDann is excluded - he was there when I got it.

I know they call moose "elk" in Europe but my guess would be stew.

    Don't open it, It's WHOOPASS .............
Think me not unkind and rude,

That I walk alone through grove and glen.

I go to seek the God of the wood,

And fetch His word to men.

I've seen images here before. No doubt that they are nicely done. To be sure I meant no disrespect.

...so I asked my Swedish friends who sits in my quad cubicle at work, and he asked his Finnish friend via email, and she said it is elk. I asked him if that meant moose and he said it is the same thing.

On the bright side I at least got a couple of recipes if I ever find myself with any. Now I just need a translator...

Ok, Ok, it is Moose but they call it Eurasian Elk over there and they use the word Hirvenlihaa (venison) for the meat of all members of the deer family. So nyone who entered who wants their ear rings, just email me (asaxon@mednet.ucla.edu) with your mailing address and I'll drop a couple pairs in the mail. As LtDann said, you don't need to wear them yourself, give them to the lady(s) in your life.

My three daughters wear their earrings from asaxon and they get compliments all the time. Beautiful earrings!!!! I love it when they tell those asking what birds the feathers are from. It has opened up many topics about hunting and using every part of the animal possible!

Eurasian elk or moose. Same thing. I'm in the dog house with my wife and duck season just opened! Any earings left?
Dad always said, "You don't have to be crazy to be a duck hunter, but it sure helps!
Duck hunting is in my DNA.

NO problem. Ear rings (6 pair) will go out in the mail today. Anything to get a fellow JHOer out of the dog house and out into the field...
