There are a whole new breed of cheap safes out there right now. I know because I have been pricing them. The construction is very basic, but they look a lot beefier from the outside. The steel is just heavy sheet metal, not plate. I am probably going to get one because I really just need something that will withstand the very slim chance of young hands trying to see whats in there. I trust my son completely but his friends are another story. They are definately not going to try using a sawzall, and if they did I would be really impressed. If you have a safe like this bolted down, it is probably going to remain safe. Otherwise you are dealing with pros and they will get it one way or another if they really want it.

Fugaloo, I went to Tractor Supply, got the 10 gun Sentry fire(30 min) for around $300 maybe $350 can't remember. Either way if you get the fire one you will want help getting it in the house as it's lined with drywall. I have the same deal, as I trust my boy, but would hate for anything to happen. Looking at those pics, I think I have a similar safe, it's a little disheartening, but it's better than nothing.
