As of this reply about the Photoscout which I placed in action after Nov.1st 2000, which after the first week leaked water into the unit around the lens and after siliconing around the leak as asked by a rep from HIGHLANDER again placed in the woods. The unit took only about 14 pic then malfunctioned again taking the remainder 10 pictures within 10 minutes. When checked, would not come out of test mode. About Dec. 15 2000, it was sent back to HIGHLANDER for repair or replacement. Hopefully no one else has had this problem! Ricky.

After having the unit repaired, which was late in the season, placed in the field and so for happy with results. Have a nice buck and several fawns (wildlife movement slow). So after negative report before a positive one. Thanks Ricky.

I purchased a Highlander a couple of weeks ago, While setting the camera up I took a fairly detailed photo of myself at "50 ft", however, this was in "daylight". My buddy was probably 50 more ft behind me while this photo was taken and he could be easily made out. This particular photo was taken of a 'feedplot' with a line of woods behind it, so this indicates if a deer, turkey etc. crosses at the "50 ft range" the camera will provide an excellent photograph of whatever tripped the switch plus anything on the feedplot or coming out of the woods behind it. My first "night pictures" of a doe were clear up to about "25 ft", however, more were taken beyond 25 ft and the farther away they got , the more illegible they became. - Steve Hall.

I have caught some wonderful deer on this game camera. In the winter time that is!!!! I thought I would put it out to try and get some nice antler growing pics. DO NOT PLACE THIS CAMERA IN SUNLIGHT WHEN TEMPS ARE 85 AND HIGHER. It took 24 pics in 24 minutes do to the sunset. Since I have placed the camera in side of a full branched bush with a cut out enough to just get the pic. That did the trick! Have got a few nice picks (hope to see them this bow season) I have to say I am thinking about trying out one of the home made cameras offered here though. Thanks for letting me state my opion on this camera. May all your arrows our rounds fly safe and true !!!!! - Don, New Jersey.

Manufacturer Information

Highlander Sports Inc. is no longer in business. This email was sent to us in March 2004 by Allen Davis regarding repairs for Highlander game cams.

My partner and I are the designers of the Photospy digital cameras that they sold. My partner and I plan on serviceing the black and white and color cameras that are returned for repair. I also plan to upgrade the camera software with the latest upgrades.

I may also offer repair for the non digital cameras that Highlander sold.

If you are interested in this type support for the products that you have sold please email me at aedavis@direcway.com.

I would also appreciate any advise on how to get the word out to all the folks that purchased their hardware. We hope to repair any problems that may occur to the hardware.
