I bought a Hawkeye Jr. in Sept. of 2001, from Bass Pro and have had nothing but problems with the unit and the company that makes it. If you want to read the long version see the talk forum under game cameras the thread Hawk eye jr. Since Sept. of 2001 until April 2002 the company has had my unit as much as I have. It should be noted that Game country does not have an 800 number so unless you are close all calls will be long distance. I have had no luck getting them to respond to E-mails.

To make a long story short my first unit had two problems. First, the cone angle was so wide animals would trip the camera before entering the frame of the photo. Second, after the unit had no activity for about 20 minutes the flash would not fire on the first photo taken. I had to send the unit back twice, they fixed the cone angle but did not fix the flash problem. They sent me a new updated camera on April 11, 2002 and it had two problems, one, flash bleed over, washing out the photos. Two, after the unit was triggered it would continue to take photos for no apparent reason. Once at the interval the delay was set for and once at random intervals.

After talking with Game-country about their "NEW" camera their solution to the problem was to return the unit to Bass Pro for a refund. They don't seem to be concerned that I have spent close to $100 on film, processing and return postage. I would not recommend this camera or company to even my worst enemy. - Lynn B.

I purchased two of these units in January 2002 and have uses them since then with no problems. Setup is simple and quick and the unit takes great pictures day or night. I manage a outdoor products retail business and have sold and dealt with numerous cameras. This unit beats all the others I have dealt with . Great Product. - Greg C.

I received the Hawk-eye Camera as a Christmas present. And experience some difficulty in using this camera. The problem is: After going through all the programming set ups, indicated in the Owner's Manual I can only get the camera to shoot one photo! That is the test photo, then the camera will not take another shot. I set it up in the field and it indicated over 1000 events, but there were no photos taken.

Have you heard as to whether anyone else is having this problem or if the programming manual is wrong? I have found that in "Mode 11" Programming Complete, LED Display Digits off: you have to press "F" for the "off" display -- the manual missed this step. Any assistance you can give me would be greatly appreciated. - James Godwin
