I shoot 22lr with subsonic ammunition with a silencer mainly for rabbits. I have always had difficulty in estimating ranges over 80 yds with any accuracy. This is essential for low velocity ammo due to the trajectory. I have always used a mill dot scope and have found that with a zero of 55 yds the mill dots work out exactly to 70 yds being 0.5 and 80 is 1, 90 is 1.5 and so on up until 160 where I hit the main post.

This is nothing new I know but since having bought the Newcon range finder I can now reliably hit golf balls up to 130 yds and small potatoes up to 160. I shot last night and had a dozen rabbits for 15 shots and the longest shot was 157 yds. I could not have achieved this without the range finder.

I have never had a LRF before so cannot compare it to any other. My experience so for is very positive. It is light weight and very consistent and the only negative I could comment on is the quality of the optics. Although ok in bright conditions they suffer when the light starts to fade and appear quite dark. I would also question the 7 X magnification they are advertised at as the bunny’s look very small at the longer ranges.

They have certainly taken my shooting to a new level and I don’t regret buying them. - Subsonic.
