Other Information

. This unit was released in the fall of 2000. Early field reports say this rangefinder eats batteries, even when turned off it still is draining the battery. Bushnell has acknowledged the unit has a problem and they have fixed it on the newest ones. If you have this unit and the battery doesn't last very long, return it to Bushnell for replacement.

Things I noticed while playing around with it. Keep in mind i have no prior experience with these at all so this stuff may be the same with all rangefinders: The unit is very quick(less than 2 secs) to give back a distance. Depends on how far but nevertheless seems quick to me. The scan mode is very nice and effective. Allows you to sweep while watching the distance change as you go. When unable to range an object do to size/distance of object I found it easy to range the ground next to the object to get an approximate reading. Of course I wouldn't want to make a shot based upon this but it does give a good idea of the distance. Gizz.

I just got my Yardage Pro Scout two weeks ago. I love it . No problems. It is smaller than the Nikon 800 and the Leica 800. I checked out all three, and for me, the Scout was the best choice. Good luck. CNC

I just got the Scout model and like it, especially the very small size and versatility as far as it ranging from 10 to 700 yards. Deer size animals though can only be ranged out to, say, 300 yards - trees out to 570 yards, buildings out to 700 yards. I've been messing around with it and have had no problems ranging trees out to 400 yards. It also has the scan mode for a continuosly changing ranges. I've never used any of the others. Gizz.

I just bought the Scout and really like it.I compared it to the Nikon and found no difference.I got the camo model and the optics are super clear and crisp. Stringpuller.

I had a Scout and returned it for the Leica, there is NO comparison in the optics. The Leica's optics are much better. I had a problem with the Scout's battery draining so returned it for the Leica. Two of my buddies both had the same problem with the Scout, supposedly this problem is fixed. The Bushnell rangefinders are excellent, the Leica is better. NodakQ2.

Compare the two side by side (Scout vs. Leica 800), and you will see there is no comparison - the optics and performance of the Leica are much, much better, especially in low light. Olink.

Just got back from Cabelas and tried them both. NO COMPARISON. Bought the Leica. Much to my wife's chagrin! Tom in Pa.

I like bushnell and have had great luck with it, given a choice bewteen any Leica product and any Bushnell product though i'd go with Leica everytime. It's like Cadillac and Chevy. nothing wrong with the Chevy, but if money is not a problem take the Caddy! bou'bound.
