Yardage Pro Bow review posted by 'Jimbo' on 'Hunt Info' deer forum 9/18/98 .... 'It ranges effectively to 75 yards. I have gotten good readings at further distances on solid targets like rocks. It is much smaller than the rangefinder you now own. It's also easy to use. I actually draw the bow, line up the rangefinder, press the button (which mounts on the bow handle), and read the distance. Takes only a couple of seconds, then you can simply move to the proper sight pin and release the arrow.'

Review posted by 'Hunter' on 'Hunt Info Bowhunting forum 10/21/98 .... I have one, in addition to my regular laser rangefinder. I've only had it for a week. Three days ago, I mounted it on my bow. At first, I found it to make my bow a little top heavy. But, as I shot it, it had no effect on my shooting. In fact, it may have had the opposite effect, as it added more mass weight to my system. As I carried it, I quickly became used to it.

Two nights ago, I took it hunting for the first time here in New York. Two hours into my sit, a nice 8-pointer responded to my grunt, walking quickly to my tree. He angled to my right, not stopping. I may not have had enough time to use my other rangefinder. I lifted my bow and aimed the rangefinder at the opening he was about to step into. I pressed the button and it immediately read 21 yards. At that same instant, the buck stepped into the opening. Without hesitation, I set my 20 yarder dead center and drilled him. He dropped in 20 yards. You asked for a hammer and I built you a house. Sorry. In short, that thing works!

Some other notes .... The Pope and Young record book WILL NOT allow any game taken with this rangefinder mounted on a bow. Also, Texas hunting law has been interpreted to say that no sight that casts a beam of light (visible or not), can be mounted on a weapon for the taking of game. From the conversations with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, this rangefinder is ILLEGAL!
