Other InformationThis camera was introduced in August of 2003. 7 day battery life is very short. No mid roll rewind on camera is one drawback. Without the mid roll rewind, if you want to take the film if it's in mid roll you have to click and wind to the end of roll which can take a few minutes. Date/time stamp gives only one stamp, it's great to know what day or time but even better to know both. Flash range is very short for night time pics. Most cameras offer 25 foot, the Canon Owl PF offers 35 foot range. No setting for just night time operation, you only get 24 hours or daytime.
User CommentsI have two and they work good. I like the event counter because it will still give you the number of deer or anything passing by after all the film is used up. I use a 24 exposure roll and I sometimes get 27 pictures. I have been checking the cameras two times a week and getting a full roll full of deer pictures, and about 43 events each time. I check them on Saturday and Wednesday. - BUCKSKIN
I have heard a mixed bag on the older Moultrie Game cam II, So I thought I would give their new camera a test. The 'Game Watcher' trail cam is only available through Wal-mart stores or Wal-mart online. It sells for $120-$130. This camera sets up very easy and has some great features for the price. It has a particularly useful laser aiming device, removable camera {works as a stand-alone 35mm camera as well}, and has fixed the problems most people found in the 'Game Cam II' {i.e. no open holes in case, camo cover, improved motor drive camera, and not effected by heat {phantom shots}. It has worked very well for me and has taken lots of good game pictures with no phantom shots. The case has provisions for extra batteries for extended use and is very weather proof. It is sensitive enough that it took a picture of a male Bobwhite quail that walked in front of the cam. If you are looking for a good game cam with nice features and fair price look hard at the Moultrie 'Game Watcher' trail cam. - RightWing
About 2 months ago I was in my local Walmart and came upon a Moultrie Game Watcher camera, it had a decent price so I figured nothing to lose. So far it was a great deal couple of nice features one being a laser to aim with and a on off switch on the bottom of the case so I can move the camera without taking pictures. The case is water tight and has Mossy Oak camo blends right in to my area I hunt. I know where it is and I had a hard time finding it. The only problem I have encountered is the camera itself has no mid roll rewind and the flash leaves some to be desired. Still it has given me good pics so far even if they are all does and fawns. Maybe when my local Walmart closes out there hunting things at the end of the season cheap there will be a few around only marked down. Got to go take my bow for a walk in the woods. Good hunting. - Hmebuildr
