I've been to East Cape, maybe ten times. There are several good places to stay, and fish from. My favorite is Palmas de Cortez. The acccomdations, service, and food are very good. Not incredible. But, very good. As good as it gets on the East Cape. For the hardcore fisherman, it's paradise. The fishing is generally outstanding. I've had trips where we have boated six marlin in one day. I've had days where I pulled on 40 - 55 lb. yellowfin, until I couldn't pull any longer. Lots of Dorado was well. I've never come home without a big cooler full of fish. German, the guy in charge of the charter boats, works his tail off and does his job proud. Some of the captains will work harder than others. It's the luck of the draw, unless you book a specific boat before your arrival date. If you like to eat, drink, and fish, this place is a winner.
