My first evening of the hunt was rained out, but we hit it the next evening. Gus made several attempts to put us in spotting position, but it was too wet. We ended up walking a valley with brush. We saw several pigs, of which one was a shooter. He didn't present me with a shot. We ran into another small boar but he told me to pass. "We will find better pigs."
The next morning was fogged in so we called it early and tried again around 4pm. We saw several groups of pigs, then the wind shifted. The one sow that wasn't in the breeze stood broadside for a clean shot.
Gus had my pig skinned, gutted and hanging in the cooler in about an hour. Pig hit the ground about 5 or so and I was on my way home by 7:30.
I'll be booking again in a few months.
