The first game camera i started out with was a Stealthcam and i was less that please with it so when i saw these go on sale i bought one. My main gripe with the Stealthcam 35mm version was price and the infrared sensor not triggering the camera.
I actually sat on my treestand and watched a deer not more than 10 feet away from the camera eat at my feeder and it never triggered. Back to the Spycam. It has lots of seemingly handy features that arent that important to me but were good selling points. One feature that seemed neat was that this camera had a built in laser pointer to aim your camera. What a great idea!
Unfortunatley this does you very little good unless you are setting your camera up at dusk or dark. Another thing is the flash. Im not sure the distance this flash is rated, but it was poor past 15 feet.
The last negative thing i can say about this camera is the error codes it gives. When i bought the camera i also bought a 128mb SD memory card to use with the camera. After installing the brand new memory card, it gave me an error message saying "Memory card Damaged!" It was brand new and never used, but i took it back just in case and i put a 16mb Nikon memory card. It worked, but after removing it and reinstalling it, it gave me the same message again. It finally went away, as there isnt anything wrong with the card.
Thats about all i can say negative about this camera. Now to the positive. I would say the best thing about this camera is price. At half the cost of most digital game camera's, this camera is a bargain at $185. The PIR (passive infa-red sensor) is outstanding compared to the Stealthcam.
The field of vision seems like it might be a little narrower than the other camera, it makes up for it in distance. At the same time it could also be a negative due to the flash not reaching as far as the PIR does. Another plus is that this camera takes movies.
The movies are small and arent awesome quality, but they do the job if you arent really worried about having high resolution movies. Another thing i like about this camera is it runs on a 6V lantern battery and also has built in ports to plug in a solar charger to use with a rechargeable.
The camera has a nice display on the front that scrolls through many different types of information, including battery charge, pictures taken/remaining, events recorded, ect.
The last thing i can say about this camera is that it has a horrible mounting system. They send you 2 shoelaces and some spring tensioners to attach it to a tree. If i make the investment in a digital camera, i want a little more holding to the tree than a few shoelaces. They do include a plastic coated cable and a small padlock so you can make sure the camera doesnt walk off easily, but that doesnt make up for the weak mounting system.
Overall i am satisfied with the camera. If you dont have the money to build your own or drop $300-$800 on a high-end game camera, this is the one for you.

I bought this moultrie game spy digital at Walmart I was walking through and saw it and thought why not give it a try. The camera itself is set up well,it has great controls and is easy to use.I have had not one problem of any kind but I read some post and bought the name brand lexar 128mg SD card for $25 as I saw some of the cheap cards don't work well with this camera so I stayed away from the cheap ones.I also bought a rechargeable sealed lead 4.5amp batterty for the camera so I could use it over and over not wasteing alot of money on batteries. Now to the camera itself,great daylight pics,so,so night pics that sometimes show a line affect or look to them but are still Ok for viewing and photo printing.Flash range is 20ft tops I set up for pics in the 15ft range with tis camera. PIR sensor is very good I don't think it misses much and has a very low empty pic rate. I checked the speed of triggering and on my camera it is right around 3 seconds with flash not to bad for a commerical camera.I tossed out the cheap strings the camera cam with for mounting and bought some rubber straps instead.Also I run a python cable through the pad lock on the box and around box and tree for locking much better cable than the factory one it came with.This also helps to firm the camera up agaist the tree some more. On battery life with the rechargeable 4.5amp I have over 500 pics so far most all of them at night with flash and 2.5 weeks in the woods. The camera still shows battery above %50. Overall the camera is what it is a $184 camera and has good things and a few bad. I like it myself and with the way I have it set up I can leave it in the woods at a long drive hunting lease for weeks takeing a 1000pics if need. They may not be the greatest night pics but this is for scouting and it gets that job done no problems. If you are trying to win a photo contest buy a $500 camera this is a scouting camera and will work good as that and is alot of fun.

The biggest gripe is memory card error message subject. The camera will read MEMORY CARD DAMAGED
and then I'll to reformat the card in my regular digital camera to get it to work correctly.. That causes lost pictures! It doesn't happen a whole lot, but occasionally it does happen..
The biggest compliment is price... It takes pretty descent pictures, and I didn't get my car repo'd trying to afford one... As a matter of fact I got two.. One I saw for 100 dollars on clearance at Major Retail Mart! I wouldn't leave the store until my better half said O.K.
Sometimes you got to stand for something!
I now have a total of four game cams... Two are homebrews... Old Owl PFs with the radio shack motion sensors... and the other are Moultrie Digitals... You dont realize how much wildlife actually lives around you, until you get a game cam... I think this one is fine for someone lacking in the cash department, or someone who would like to own several game cams for scouting purposes... Quality O.K., You get what you pay for!

The good thing about this camera is that it is really inexpensive for a scouting tool. It's not going to win you any contest but it will get the job done if you are just trying to find out what's in your hunting area, and what the times are for the game. Also, it's fairly easy to set up, and the controls are pretty conicse...
The downside to this camera, is that the memory card, depending on which one you choose I see, are not compatable with it. I used the Lexar, and 400 events, and only 74 pics. I guess I will try the higher quality and higher priced card later on. Also, the string mounting system really sucks, I would invest in some good bungee straps, and use them to mount to the tree.
