This is a really good head to use on small birds and rodents.
They pack a real punch and the springs serve several functions. They catch grass and brush in order to prevent arrows from slipping away never to be found again. They also do a fair amount of flesh damage on game animals. They tend to prevent deep penetration but also break up small bones pretty well. They often penetrate but don't pass through.
Quite a bit higher price than the rubber/plastic blunts and the springs bend up after a while or shots at hard surfaces, but function really well.
Also try the Zwickey Scorpios behind your favorite broadhead or field point. They also work well.
