Pros: Close to Sacramento and Bay Area. Tim is a patient and hardworking guide that really tries to make your hunt rewarding and memorable.
Cons:

I have had the pleasure of hunting with Tim three times and I can say I haven't been dissapointed yet. He knows his areas and the game animals that live there. He takes pride in his job and tries to make you happy. I am already booked for another pig hunting trip at the end of May. The scenery is just amazing, around every corner is a vista overlooking the wine country below. If your looking for a friendly guide in Northern California that will work to get you a pig or whatever. Then you might want to check out Tim Lockwood and give him a call.

Pros: Close to SF, Sacramento and East Bay
Cons: N/A

I recently just went on a hog hunt with Lockwood Hunting Services. Tim has access to a awesome 4100 acre ranch. Tim is a very professional guide and knows the ranch like the back of his hand. Tim works very hard to get you on hogs and help you tag out. I have had the pleasure of hunting numerous ranches all over Southern, Central and Northern California and I don't think any of them held as much sign as Tim's ranch. I recommend Tim's operation for all your Pig, Deer and Bear hunting trips....

Pros:
Cons: Locwood = Lies, & Thievery

A group of 3 of us booked a Fully Guided Hunt with Lockwood. He advertised on Craigslist for a special price of $500 for what was regularly $750.00. The promise was simple: Professionally guided Hunt with 1 guide per 2 hunters, on a private ranch.

What we got was close to a trespass fee on an occupied ranch with other hunting parties on it. The ranch is small aprox 3000 acres. When trying to drive and work the pigs, this can become a bit to close for comfort with other hunting parties on top of you.

Our guide on both days of the hunt left the hunting party alone, and took off to spend the day with the other hunting party. We were left stranded with no guide nor map of the land, nor ability to drive pigs. We were rifle hunters the other party were archers. Although we all paid for guides, Lockwood only had one guide on the ranch for everyone I believe 6 hunters and 2 parties in total. it was a complete joke.

All in all, we felt cheated. We did not get what we paid for. We voiced this to Lockwood and he basically said "F-You". We were told that it is what it is, and that we could take it or leave it. He then mentioned that he would be ready to sue us with his "high-powered" attorney should we try to refund or charge back our money.... He is a completely unprofessional ASS.

In a nutshell, having hunted with over 2 dozen guides in California, I would say that Lockwood is the Least Professional, Most Unethical, and Devious Guide in the State.

I definitely would reccomend you look elsewhere for a positive and successful hunt.

As far as I am concerned Mr Lockwood can Kiss my

Pros: Beautiful property
Cons: Communication

I too had a bad experience with Tim Lockwood. This was my first time hunting pigs in Northern California. Here is how my first guided trip with Tim Lockwood went:
We arrived at the meeting point at the scheduled time. We called Tim numerous times with no response. We thought we made a mistake in scheduling the hunt or something happened to Tim. He finally called 45 minutes later telling us he was already on the property and to drive up to the ranch. We drove up to the ranch and he informed us how we would be hunting that day. He dropped us off and had two of us walk through the canyon and three of us stationed at the top of the canyon hoping to get any pigs that got flushed out. We didn't have very much luck walking through the canyon. After we met up with the rest of the party we all wondered where Tim had gone. Apparently he was off scouting for pigs. We waited. Tim finally showed up and spread us out at different points with no luck. That was how are first day ended. When we arrived back at the meeting point we noticed there was another hunting party that was hunting the other half of the ranch and Tim was working both parties. The interesting thing was one of the people from the other party mentioned that Tim said there were a ton of pigs on our side of the property. I was shocked. This was also the reason he was late was he was getting this party to their hunting spot. We had only seen three pigs that day and they weren't even on Tim's hunting property. That was our first day. We decided to ask Tim if we could use the "dogs" to hunt the second day and he informed us that dogs were not allowed on this ranch. We found this very intesting because we were never informed of this.
Some of the people in my party were a bit upset about the lack of communication on Tim's part. The following day a different guide showed up and it was more of the same. One guide tending to two different parties. We did see three pigs that day but could not get to them. All in all, I had a very good time out hunting with my friends but we felt Tim was taking advantage of us and the people in my hunting party were not happy. We voiced some of our frustrations and Tim responded by saying this was the package that we paid for. Anyway, if you do book a trip with Tim make sure you fully understand what he means by guided hunting trip and the package you are paying for.

Pros: Nice Guy
Cons: Dropped us off and left for the day.

Tim is a real nice person, I just don't think he has good customer service skills. I wish i would have seen these reviews before, so I could have cancelled. The hunt was my first hog "skunk." After seven successful hunts I guess it was bound to happen. I should have stayed with my old guide. I would have recommend Tim, but his work ethic was not what I am used to from a guide. He sold me a guided hunt and he spent only 30-60 minutes with me, mostly driving me to a spot with a lookout on a 20 acre patch of clean land where he left me most of the day. WTF Most of his land is very, very dense cover, advantage pigs. Maybe I am bitter that I did not get a pig, but I did pay for a guide--I got neither.
