Westy and I used my new Motorguide W55 wireless trolling motor at the Big Bear roundup. This thing is the shizzle.
Easy to mount and the wireless foot pedal 2 key fob remotes took just a few seconds to initialize.
On the water the key fobs are so much easier to use than standing off kilter using a foot pedal. We got a day and a half out of a Optima Blue Marine battery, maybe 9-10 hours of slow and high speed use. The battery level meter on the base is real handy.
The motor had enough thrust to toss you back in the boat. Weeds were so so, the prop got tangled a couple times when we ventured to far in the weedbeds.
The one complaint I've heard is the unit beeps every time you hit the remote but the beep was so low we could hardly hear it, of course our hearing isn't the best either.
$539 from West Marine in Riverside CA. The key fobs ($44 each) were hard to find and I finally found them at Cabela's and www.onlinemarine.com
