PENN'S WOODS DS-06IR DIGITAL-SCOUT D 6.0 MEGAPIXEL SCOUTING CAMERA
GREAT FOR SCOUTING OR RESEARCH
All of the great features of our 6.0 megapixel Digital-Scout unit, but with INFRARED technology! If you have been looking for a high resolution Infrared system, this is it. The DS-06IR is the best infrared scouting camera available on the market today. This system utilizes an infrared flash that is virtually invisible to the naked eye, allowing you to take total "stealth" photos for game scouting or surveillance. The animal or trespasser will never know their photo was taken! Night photos will have a pinkish tint but will retain excellent detail and resolution quality. Day photos will be full color with only a slight pinkish tint depending on lighting conditions.
Our highest quality scouting unit ever! Small, compact case design that measures only 7" x 5" x 2" making it the smallest digital scouting camera on the market . The Sony S600 has extended flash range that reaches out to 50 feet for beautiful nighttime photos when deer and game are most active. Features include the most advanced Passive Infrared (PIR) triggering system on the market today, it detects both body heat and motion from as far as 80 feet away, removable Sony S600 Cyber-Shot 6.0MP digital camera with Date/Time stamping feature, and long lasting battery life takes up to 320 photos on one battery charge. The Sony S600 has 32MB of internal memory or just add a memory stick and capture hundreds of photos. Built-in PIR sensitivity adjustment automatically adjusts to environmental conditions, preventing false triggers on warm days. Adjustable settings let you select time delay between photos as well as daylight-only, nighttime-only, or 24-hour operation. Capture high-resolution 15-second MPEG movies at 640 x 480 resolution. View images anywhere on the camera's huge, color 2" TFT display. Just turn on the power switch and lock it to a tree with the included Master Lock® Python Cable Locking System and you're scouting for your next trophy! Includes: 6.0 MP Sony S600 Cyber-Shot camera modified with infrared capabilities , 2 AA alkaline batteries, 32MB of memory, Rugged waterproof camouflaged enclosure with MasterLock "Python" Locking Cable for attaching to tree and theft control.

Digital-Scout™ Control Board Components
The Digital-Scouts Control Board electronics are the heart of the system. The Digital-Scout uses a Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor to detect any warm-blooded animal to trigger the camera. This sensor is triggered by body heat and motion. The PIR sensor detects the difference between the air temperature and the animals body heat temperature. In colder temperatures the detection distance is much greater. However, in air temperatures above 85 deg. F the detection distance can be cut by more than 20 feet. Under air temperatures around 65 deg. F your PIR detection range should be about 80 feet. In temperatures above 95 deg. F the Digital-Scout unit will go into a shut down mode until the air temperature cools down below 95 deg. F. This will prevent your Digital-Scout unit from taking “false photos”. The Digital-Scout advanced electronics will adjust the PIR sensor detection range based on lighting conditions and temperature conditions. No other trail camera on the market has this advanced feature.
The PIR detection area will be reduced in the dark hours to keep your subject within the cameras flash range. The PIR detection area will also be reduced in daylight conditions with air temperatures lower than 32 deg. F to keep the subject within the cameras photo taking range.Note: Even during cooler days, air temperatures around 70 deg. F, the Digital-Scout could go into a shut down mode if the sun is hitting the Digital-Scout case. This can cause internal temperatures greater than 95 deg. F. It’s best to place your Digital-Scout unit in shaded areas if possible.
Software:Includes our exclusive Visual Media Explorer contains all the tools you need for creating, editing, printing, and retouching your digital photos and videos. Easily browse your images in thumbnail form in a friendly and familiar Windows Explorer® type Interface.
* Our unique "Night Enhance" feature can brighten not only night photos but any low light photo without washing out your photo or loosing color. The "Night Enhance" feature can also be run in batch mode! Create aerial and topographic maps, with markers, from the Microsoft® TerraServer online database. Save aerial and topographic maps as JPEG images where you Digital-Scout was placed! Upload and download waypoint information to and from Garmin and Magellan brand Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers VIA a RS-232 connection. Stamp GPS and Date/Time on photos. Load and save GPS waypoints, and add markers to maps. Add, delete, edit GPS map markers.
* Batch processing is another powerful tool included with Visual Media Explorer™. A "batch" is a group of files, and batch processing performs a set of operations on each file in the batch. A collection of images can be converted from one file type to another, can be rotated, compressed, resized, change brightness and contrast, and many more functions.
If you use a GPS unit along with your Digital-Scout you can embed the GPS position into the photos taken by the unit with your copy of Visual Media Explorer™. With the Visual Media Explorer™ upgrade you can stamp the GPS position on to your photos along with the time/date, and phase of the moon. You can even download aerial photos and topo maps from Microsoft’s Terraserver. For Visual Media Explorer™ upgrades please visit:https://www.VisualMediaSoftware.com
