The CZ 550 Full Stock has a 20.5" barrel, mauser action with claw extractor, and a european style stock and fixed sights.
I received mine in the venerable african caliber of 9.3x62mm (.366), which has a sectional density of 0.310 for a 286gr. bullet and velocity of 2400 ft/sec.
I mounted a Leupold 1-4x 20mm scope on it for fast target acquisition and light weight.
At the range I was able to keep three shots within 1 MOA, if I let the barrel cool down between shots - if not I noticed some stringing.
The action of the CZ is somewhat rough, and needs to be operated a few hundred times or - if you know what you are doing - be polished, to operate as smooth as you will find it with the more expensive guns. I find that I enjoy sitting and working the action on a quite evening and by the time I hit the shooting range, it was reloading with a nice smooth feel to it.
The stock is not fancy, but of nice grain and a snug fit. The checkering is machine cut and leaves a lot to be desired, but is functional and without overruns.
The gun weighs 8 lbs with the scope (7.4 lbs without) and the kick from the recoil is very tolerable, at least for the first shots. I found that the first 12 shots on the range were no different than my 30.06, but the last couple of shots started to bite.
The rifle has very much the feel of a go-to gun; it shoulders fast, it carries easily, and it has a robust feel to it. I know that the bullet drop is pretty steep over 200 yds, but for 90% of the hunting I will be doing I expect the rifle to do the job. But my upcoming bear-hunt will hopefully shed some more light on the true performance of this little-big gun.
