Our experience with these guys was AWFUL! We sent our 6 month old yellow lab to them (from California) for 6 months with the guarantee of a started gun dog. We were promised phone updates, etc. but did not recieve any. We kept calling and leaving messages and they would never return phone calls. Not until I started leaving urgent worried messages after my husband had already left many, did they return our calls. They would say they had been out hunting, etc. and that our girl was doing fine. When it came time for her to come home, we could not contact them at all and we started to get really worried. We had to contact the sheriffs office in Terrell and THEN they started calling back. When we picked her up at the airport, it was horrible. First, they sent her back in the wrong kennel (a cheaper smaller version of the one we sent her in), she was FILTHY and skinny. Once we got her home, we found tons of dead ticks on her and an ugly rash on her neck that had to be treated by a vet. The worst thing was her nails on her right front paw were totally worn down as if she was pawing at something incessantly. She is very head shy now and won't retrieve. We tried to contact them via phone, email, certified letter to resolve the situation but we haven't heard anything. I am pursuing this legally now to try and get my money back, press charges for neglect, etc. I found out from another forum that these guys have been turned in for neglect prior. Read the post under the waterfowl forum titled "Don't ever use JBR Cajun Kennels" for more information. Our dog is doing better now and we love her dearly and hope she'll continue to improve. We learned a valuable lesson and I hope no one ever has to go through what we have been through.
