Description: These patented rolling backpacks have the harness opposite the handle — so the rolling frame doesn’t dig into you, the harness doesn’t drag on the ground, and the switch from carrying to rolling is easy.

The expedition-quality backpack harness is adjustable for torso length and has an internal frame, CollarCutTM shoulder straps with sternum straps, load adjustment straps, an ergonomic waistbelt and compression straps. The tough construction uses screws, not rivets. Both packs include an All Weather Cover™ (which can be used while rolling or backpacking); Tripod Mount™; and a built-in travel cover for harness and waistbelt. The Road Runner AW has a removable harness and add-on DayPack. The Road Runner Mini has a removable ergonomic waistbelt. Customize the removable insert for your gear or remove it completely to convert to a rolling travel bag. Attachment loops take optional SlipLock™ add-ons.

Pros: Lots of room, lots of pockets
Cons: Too big for airplane overhead storage

I've been lugging my Roadrunner around for a couple years now. There's lots of room to arrange all your gear. I can get a Canon GL-1 camcorder with acccessories, lens etc, a smaller Sony camcorder, headphones, , a digital camera, mics and all cords and charger in this case.

The only problem with this case is when full it's a tough cram to get it into the overheard storage bin on planes. The shape of the case makes it bulge from where the backpack straps are attached. The outer cover where the backpack straps are stowed when not in use is starting to get holes worn in it from scraping all the overhead bins.

To be honest I've never even used it as a backpack so I probably should have gone with the plain rolling pack without the backpack feature. I see where the company says you can take the backpack straps off but I looked and didn't see any way to get them off.

The other snag I've found is the tripod straps hang out when not in use and it's hard to get down an airplane aisle without snagging the seats.

The wheels have held up good and the handle work fine. I hang a bag off the handle when walking with it and it balances and handles good.
