Detection Method: Passive infrared motion detector which is designed to detect heat in motion within a conical area. The ± 4 degree cone-shaped detection zone extends to 60 feet (maximum detection distances vary with ambient air temperature and animal size). Generally speaking, the cooler the air the greater the detection distance (this characteristic is true for all passive/motion sensors).

SOME OTHER NOTES: Good battery life and photos. The event timer is okay to learn of movement, but it doesn't tell you what kind of animal passed by. Security cable good for as long as it takes the dirtbags to get the boltcutters.
