I went on a pig hunt at birds and boars a few months ago.Chopper did everything he could to put us on pigs.He is a great host and has the most awsome property I have ever hunted. There is a ton of game on the property but remember it is archery only so you are going to work for your game, but trust me its there! This in my opinion is the best deal for the price. You stay in a cabin and have the chance to harvest two pigs and there are no hidden charges or trophy fees. The price is the same wether your hog is 50lbs or 350lbs.I would recomend this hunt to anyone that loves to archery hunt. The place is crawling with tukey and quail also.I plan on getting back there at least once a year and more if I get the chance! All in all this is a no BS hunt with one hell of a good guy,so if you looking for a good hunt look him up Birds and boars you wont regret it!!

I have hunted with birds and boars 5 times and have always seen plenty of game in every corner of the ranch, it ranges from deer, badgers, pigs quail, pigeons, rabbits (cant shoot them) foxes, coyotes, bobcats the list goes on.
Chopper is the host and he make sure everyone is well informed as to where the game might be found and when it comes to recovery he will do everything in his power to help. All facilities are first rate right down to the walk-in cooler at the end.
If hunting is what you are looking for look no further, book a hunt today you will not go home disappointed.

Far from where I live

I have been to Birds and Boars twice.
The first time I didn't get a boar, but the property has so much potential for success. I saw and was around boar, I just wasn't able to get on them.
I went back a few months later and got a big sow. I also saw other boar that I didn't get on to kill.
25% and 12.5% were the success rates when I went. Low compared to some places, but Chopper has a very high return rate.
The cabin has complete bath facilities (real toilet)as well as a stove, BBQ, electricity, beds, etc.
Chopper, the host, lives on the property and is a no BS guy.
Where as some "guides "show up the morning of the hunt and try to recall where they saw game before, or take you to the "honey hole," Chopper lives there and drives the property daily.
He tells where he saw hog activity and showed hunters around the ranch.
BTW, hunters from all parts of the ranch ran into hogs, the killing part is up to the hunter.
The game numbers are just astounding.
The walk-in cooler is awesome. Beats the heck out of hanging game outside or throwing in a cooler.
The price is very reasonable w/no surprises for shooting a big boar.
He went out of his way to find me when I decided to take a scenic route back down a hill.
He fixed a flat tire for me and I saw him look for, and find, parts to fix a towbar. Way above and beyond.
If you need to have a slam dunk kill, this is Not the place for you.
If you want a REAL boar hunting adventure this the place.

Hunted with some fellow JHO'ers the weekend of Oct 1,2005. Had a great time, saw at least 40 hogs, missed one and killed one that dressed out at 145 pounds. It was a great hunt and I am looking forward to doing it again. Thanks Chopper for this awesome hunt.

I've bowhunted turkeys and pigs at Choppers and it is a beautiful place to hunt. The cabin is clean and has all the creature comforts of home and a awesome view out over Monterey Bay. Chopper has always been a gracious host who has even helped do some calling on one hunt with me. There are plenty of turkey roosts on his property to set up on for spring turkey.
