I drew the coveted Arizona Kaibab late rifle hunt tag in 2004. Knowing that I would not have time to scout, I elected to hire a guide. I have two of Duwane Adam's books, Hunting Monster Mule Deer on the Kaibab, and Hunting Coues Deer. Both are great books. I figured that if anyone knows the Kaibab, it's Mr. Adams.
From the first phone call, to the time I drove away from Duwane's camp with a 195 gross muley in the back, I was impressed. Not only are they in the business of killing big bucks, they are fun people to be around. Duwane and his guides are first rate. They made me feel at home from the start. You can just show up, and let them do all the work. Or, you can jump right in and be a part of the team. I glassed side by side with a few of Duwane's guides, and they were incredibly generous in sharing what they know about glassing. I learned more in one day, than I could have in a lifetime on my own. I spent every minute of daylight in the field totally focused on finding big bucks. Beside that, the food, accomodations, transportation, and fellowship were outstanding.
If you ever draw a tag in Arizona, elk, muley, coues, pronghorn, or sheep, I suggest calling Mr. Adams at Arizona Big Game Hunting.
If you have any questions about my experience, please send me an email.
