We stuck one up Saturday evening to see if the now wary birds would react.
It changed the flight pattern so that instead of flying straight out in between us and another group the birds turned and headed our way. I saw one lone dove dive bomb the decoy and land right next to it.
Easy to set up and load batteries. Only complaint is there isn't an ON/OFF switch, you have to open the flap on the back and unplug the AA battery pack. Stake is a little short IMHO. It's about 3 foot high. In high brush you might need 5 or 6 feet to get it up high enough to be seen. You could strap it to a fencepost to make up for the height. Uses 1/2" square metal tube for stake.
I ran it with Energizer NiMH rechargeable batteries for about 3 hours and it was still spinning good when Westy brought it in. One wing fell off at first so make sure you have the wings clamped down good with the thumb screws.
No one shot it either, that was another concern I had. I've had my clothespin decoys blasted before by chowderheads.
We've got one MOJO Dove decoy left in our store and with MOJO just west of New Orleans I'm not sure we can get anymore anytime soon. Same for duck spinners too maybe.
