Now, only 60 miles from Los Angeles, there is a bird club for real hunters. When nature calls you to the fields, there is no longer any need to take a week off work, to travel to the hunting grounds. For, now, there is the High Desert Hunt Club, in the upper west side of the Antelope Valley.
For quail, there are natural rabbit brush and bramble. For chukar, there are dry mountains and rocky ledges. And, for pheasant, there are luscious, green, damp meadows, with small, running streams.
Just bring your guns. We provide the dogs, handlers, and delicious meals. You'll have an opportunity to bag a California legal limit of quail, chukar, and pheasant, all in the same day, in your own field, with no other hunters.
Our rustic adobe hacienda has the nostalgia that goes with being the oldest building in the Antelope Valley.
THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE HUNTERS BEHIND THE GUNS
"Bodo Winterhelt has raised over 200,000 game birds for hunting clubs. He has hunted, trained, and handled thousands of dogs for such hunters as John Foster Dulles, Bing Crosby, Prince Phillip, Charlie Connacker, Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau, Orel Hershiser, and Jameson Parker.
Lisa McNamee has hunted the High Desert Hunt Club area for more than 25 years. She has fished and hunted from Alaska to Baja and California to Maine.
Phil McNamee is a third generation California hunter, who was raised in the Antelope Valley and has hunted and done extensive habitat improvement in the High Desert Hunt Club area.
