CUSTOM HAND MADE VALLEY QUAIL CALL FROM JIM MATTHEWS
This is a chamber call made from a figured piece of walnut. It has a wonderful sound. The lanyard is cow hide lacing.
The Jim Matthews Signature Calls are currently a JHO exclusive. They are not available from any other retail source. These calls are individually hand-made by Southern California outdoor writer Jim Matthews. These calls are different from the many other calls on the market because they are made from lovely pieces of walnut, maple, mesquite, manzanita, or other native American woods. They are hand-cut, matched, sanded, drilled, assembled, and tuned by someone who knows quail calling intimately and loves the sport. Each call is also signed and numbered on the inside of the call.
Having a Jim Matthews Signature Call gives you bragging rights to owning one of the most unique, beautiful, and lovely-sounding quail calls available. No two are alike. There are two models of Matthews' calls that will be available on JHO. The first is a basic or "stick" call, very similar to the nice Iverson quail calls, which Matthews admits were his inspiration. The second is Matthews' special "chamber" call, which has a carved-in sound chamber that gives the call more resonance. All calls use standard "newspaper" rubber bands for the reeds. This allows the owner to change out reeds easily. Each call comes with a lanyard and nice instruction sheet.
