The Russian boars were imported for the San Carlos Ranch in Monterey County by George G. Moore in 1926. Over the years they have interbred into what we have today, but have retained both the looks and disposition of their European cousins. These pigs are lean and muscular and can obtain speeds up to 30 m.p.h. They have great agility and can maneuver through brush and open terrain with great ease. An average pig weighs in between 150 and 180 pounds. An adult boar stands about 30 inches tall and weighs between 200 and 300 pounds. They are covered with a thick armor plating around the shoulders and develop tusks sometimes in the excess of three inches in length. The wild pig is a formidable foe; fierce, intelligent and always dangerous at bay. You are required to use a rifle of not less than .25 caliber (.270, 30-06, or 7mm mag are preferred). Rifles should be sighted in at 200 yards. If you wish to hunt with a handgun, we prefer you use the 41 44 mag caliber. Handguns should be sighted in at 50 yards. We use a 4x4 vehicle to get around on the ranch. We also hike to spot and stalk game. No dogs are used. A Guide will be provided for every group of 3-4 hunters. Your Guide will recover your game, skin, clean and split your pig so that it is ready for processing. Your pig will then be stored in our walk-in cold box until you are ready to leave. Bring along a 120 quart ice chest chilled down with ice to transport your game. Normally our pig hunts are for 2 days; 2 mornings and 2 evenings. If you get your pig early on in these 2 days, you are welcome to stay and do some varmit hunting. All hunters are required to have a valid hunting license and tags. Pig tags are nontransferable and that means you cannot share or sell the tags to another hunter. All state and local laws will be followed and safety is stressed at all times. Trigger X contains species-specific pheromones that trigger instinctive feeding behavior in fish - freshwater and saltwater - with its revolutionary, patented, Ultrabite formula that offers unduplicated attraction and reaction for a variety of popular angling species. "Anglers will soon hold the power to suddenly turn the bite on," says Mark Fisher, Rapala director of field promotions. "Put simply, pheromones emitted by fish influence the behavior of other members of the same species and in turn influence the behavior of other species. If baitfish emit pheromones to communicate danger, their reaction triggers nearby predators to feed. In turn, the school of predators emit their own pheromones associated with feeding, working the school into a frenzy." Designed to mimic natural forage shapes, Trigger X baits are available in a wide range of fish catching colors to suit every angling situation. Many feature a crystal see-through effect for a natural appearance. All Trigger X baits feature a ribbed body design for detailed in-water flex, natural swimming action, and increased distribution of scent and pheromones into the water. Unlike traditional soft plastics, Trigger X will allow anglers to fish it all year long, whether it's in the dead of summer or winter. With a wide range of fish-catching colors, anglers can quickly adapt to a multitude of angling scenarios. Trigger X baits come sealed in unique form fitting trays to retain their shape and maintain pheromone saturation, and are made from an environmentally-friendly material that is biodegradable. "Trigger the bite with Trigger X - biodegradable soft baits that look, feel, taste and smell like the real thing," explains Fisher. www.triggerx.com Trigger X - Bass Anglers know when it comes to hooking hawgs, soft bait rigging is where the action's at. Choose from 11 "trigger the bite" styles including Swimming Worm, Flutter Worm, Spadetail Worm, Swimming Grub, Flapdad, Flipping Tube, Classic Tube, Minnow, Lizard, Frog and Big Bug. Select styles will be available in eight natural color patterns and all are equipped with fish-triggering Ultrabite Pheromones. Trigger X - Walleye Whether you're in the shallows, targeting the reefs or fishing through the ice, soft baits are a walleye angler's best friend - Trigger X is no exception. Choose from three "turn the bite on" styles such as a Swimming Grub, Jumbo Leech and Nightcrawler, all specifically designed to appeal to walleye. Systems Introduces Super-Pro Dummy Launcher 3/23/09 The Super-Pro Dummy Launcher from D.T. Systems increases the effectiveness of training sessions by simulating a hunting situation. The launcher uses .22 Blank Power Loads to launch retriever dummies with the sound of a gun. The launcher sends the dummy into the air and trains the dog to watch it until it hits the water or land in order to get a good "mark" on it. Dogs quickly learn to look for the dummy at the report of the shot. The Super-Pro Dummy Launcher has several features that set it apart. The frame, hinge system, base and top of the launcher are made of rugged solid aluminum construction. The launcher barrel is made of Stainless Steel and has patented dual firing ports to produce a steadier, more balanced and farther launch of the dummy. The construction materials make the launcher totally rust proof. The Super-Pro Dummy Launcher has wide nylon comfort grip handle and a thick, dense recoil pad to reduce felt recoil. It is very comfortable to shoot with up to 90% less felt recoil than other launchers. The self-contained firing pin mechanism can be easily removed for cleaning and maintenance. Fired cases from the blank power loads are removed with a patented built-in shell extractor. It is as easy as 1-2-3 to remove a fired case and then replace it with a loaded blank. Feather-Weight Launcher Dummies for the Super-Pro Dummy Launcher are made of high quality 1000 denier nylon Cordura fabric. The dummies come in two sizes, 6" and 10". The specially coated fabric repels water, resists mold growth and gives longer life. They also have excellent scent holding qualities. Retail value for the Super-Pro Dummy Launcher is $99.99. The 6" dummy sells for $20.99 and the 10" dummy for $23.99. For more information on products from D.T. Systems, please visit www.dtsystems.com. This new 100-grain, 2-blade broadhead has a 1.5" cutting diameter. The 1.5 is specially designed with a blade angle that is swept back slightly more than the original 2" 2-Blade design. The new Rage 40KE is specifically designed for those with short draw lengths and/or light draw weights who generate less than 40 foot pounds of kinetic energy. "The new Rage 1.5 fills a niche that we didn't have, " stated Jon Syverson, Vice President of Sales. "This new blade is ideal for women, kids, and for smaller framed shooters who's bows produce less kinetic energy. " All Rage broadheads offer the proprietary rear-deploying SlipCam that are fully deployed by the time the blades make impact with no loss of kinetic energy. The exclusive Shocklock™ System holds each blade in place without the need for rubber bands. Simply push the blades into place and they will automatically "lock" down. The more forgiving blade angle of the RAGE 40KE, combined with the proprietary SlipCam system offers the most reliable broadhead design available for greater penetration at lower kinetic energies. The popularity of the Rage broadheads made them nearly impossible to find a year ago, however, the Company has taken the steps necessary to accommodate the high demand. Think big this bow season. Big entry wound. Big exit wound. Big blood trail. Big animal! THINK RAGE, and get your game! The Rage is available in 100-grain in either a 2-Blade design with either the new 1.5" or the giant 2" cutting diameter or 3-Blade design with a 1.5" cutting diameter. My first beagle was one I raised from a six week old Gay bred pup I called Penny. Penny went on to make a nice hound. Her bloodline still exist in my kennel today. I was later introduce to UKC and started going to field trials in 1994. Shortly after that I finished Penny as my first Dual Champion. " CHHBCH Annon's Lil' Kopper Penny". Most hunts are 100% draw. We can arrange a hunt even if you do not draw a license. Most of the elk hunts are conducted from our lodge in Eagle Nest. We do utilize spike camps and horses when hunting remote wilderness areas during the early season hunts. Success is high on both the four wheel drive and wilderness area hunts. Let us know your preference when scheduling a hunt. We do offer private land elk hunts on ranches up to 80,000 acres. No license drawing for private land hunts.
