AREA LAKESWater temperatures were reported to be in the upper 40s to low 50s.Musky anglers continue to do well on Pewaukee Lake. Okauchee, Lac La Belle and Oconomowoc also have given up nice-sized fish. Musky fishing will only get better as the water temperatures cool further. The best action was around weeds in 5 to 8 feet in areas with bait fish. Breaks in 12 to 20 feet also will hold fish. Casting glide baits, jerk baits, Bulldawgs, double-bladed bucktails or twitch baits triggered many following fish. Most muskies, however, were caught using suckers on quick-strike rigs. Soaking two suckers while casting will provide you with a better opportunity to catch a trophy musky. Place a sucker boat-side a few feet down for following fish while casting. Suspend the other under a slip float over deeper water.
