Default New guy from central Oregon

Hello all,

Just joined from central Oregon. I'm a lifelong hunter, mostly big game - deer, elk, moose and hogs, but love coyote hunting. It's quickly moving up my list of favorite hunts. I'm retired, so have lots of time to devote to all my passions, especially motorcycle touring, woodworking, golf, and raising a herd of koi. Currently I'm using a Savage model 93 in 17 HMR for coyotes, but think I'd prefer something a little larger, so I'm shopping for a Remington 700 SPS Varmint in either .223 or 22-250. I had a Remington model 597 that was recalled and I'm waiting for the $200 voucher for another Remington product. That's why I'll be buying Remington, otherwise I'd probably buy a Savage. I belong to a couple of motorcycle forums and also one for Koi and have learned a lot from them. I'm hoping for the same from Jesse's. In fact, any opinions on the .223 vs. 22-250 debate would be greatly appreciated. Right now, I'm leaning towards the .223, but could be swayed by a good argument for either.
