 hello all
I'm new to hunting, though I have always wanted to learn. Married to a wonderful husband and have three girls, all of which would love to learn as well.
I'm in the high desert of California for now, moving back to my homestate of Oregon within the next couple years.

Welcome Yellowhorse. You'll find that we have lots of active members that live in your corner of California, and the Department of Fish and Game has programs to get women and children introduced to hunting. Don't be bashful. Ask for help or advice.

Welcome!
Look for a Hunter Safety Program nearest to you first. For you and your kids.
Does your husband hunt?

Thanks for the welcome and tips.
My husband used to hunt small game as a kid years ago with his dad. Once he went to college, though, he became way too busy. Full time student (holding up to 22 units per semester!) and holding two jobs to work himself through college. Frankly, I have no idea how he managed that, but he never got back into hunting even though he's always dreamed of big game.

Welcome to the Forum! Take your hunter's safety, would be a good family activity. Talk to you local DFG and see when they are having field days or other classes to help familiarize with the game you wish to hunt. Lastly spend time at the range. The more proficiant you are with your rifle, shotgun or bow the better.

Welcome yellow horse.
If you want to start hunting, you've picked the best state to learn. We've got it all except whitetail. Shhh, don't tell anyone, the big game hunting is excellent here.
