Just wondering guys If you think that a single six in .32 mag was too much gun for treed or trapped coons. I know most guys use a .22 for the coup de gras for trapped coons but I want to use one pistol for both types of shots. I handload 90 grain semi wadcutters to about 950-1000fps. What do you think?

Sounds too big to me. I always use .22 cb caps for trapped and treed coons. I like the fact that the cb's are quiet but also when shooting treed coons I am leary of shooting up in the air so I want something that won't travel as far.

That'll work
It's a little more than what we use, but it will work...if you are going to put a hole in the thing anyway, realistically the hole won't be that much bigger unless the critter moves just as you fire and you hit a bone or something...but if that happens the .22 might change direction and make an internal mess too...like said before, whatever you are comfortable with...

I too like the CBs but have mostly used.22 short. Louder for sure but I am far enough away from folks so it won't make much of a difference. This is strictly for trapped animals.

I have used both a .22 and a .32 for treed coon and the .32 is too much gun.
