been looking at the remington 770 and was wondering if anyone knows about these rifles. i have never shot one of these nor do i know anyone who has.i am looking for a rifle to take some coyotes, hogs and maybe a few deer. im not sure if i should go for the .243 or .270. my buddy feels that i should opt for the 06 so i can get a little more knockdown power for my buck. anyone have views on this?

All three of those rounds will work well for deer and yotes. Have deer hunted with a .270 for several years and it has never let me down, teh 30-06 is a great and very versatile round. My wife and oldest daughter each have a .243 and they are good for deer and yotes too.

On the model 770, it is no model 700. Have heard that it is more like the 710.

I just can't get used to the look of it. Too toy like for me. And cheap in a way.
I'm curious about the 715 though. But no price is out there yet on it.
Maybe save a few more bucks and step up to the 700 stainless SPS or take a good look at the new 798.
