Hunted a club next to the refuge on Saturday, never fired a shot. Thought with the nice weather and all, it was going to be a great day.
Saw a few birds none wanted to play. I was wondering if anyone else hunted in the same area?
Heading back out next weekend, different club, same hood. Hope to have better results. still had a good time though.

saturday i shot 5 and my cousin shot 5 we have a flat bottom boat. we hunted a area in 1 way in the south end it was good first thing in the morning then the birds slowed down we left about 10 am and kept going till we got to mendota and hunted sunday in area 18 it felt like we walked forever and got set up and i only got one bird from there saturday they shot close to 900 teal we just got into a bad spot sunday but thats hunting. i rather hunt kern because its only 25 minutes down the road from were i live. every time i go to kern we get birds. If you have a boat area 2 is best area 2a is second area 1 is third and area 1a is 4th for best hunting. ive been hunting every wednesday and saturday for the last 2 months.

We went out to a blind and my daughter shot a shovelor and a skunk shot my dog Duke. It rained on us on/off all morning and we just didn't see very many birds. We were in the wrong spot that day. I wish my kid was a tad taller so we could go into the free roam area's. I still love spending time with my munchkins cause they never stop asking questions while out there and are great company.
