    Woman gored by pet deer.

By Shuva Rahim, Cox News Service

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Clark County | An area woman was in serious condition at Miami Valley Hospital on Sunday after a pet deer attacked her near her home.

Patricia S. Treat, 55, of 1025 E. Blee Road was lying injured near a buck when her husband found her at midnight Saturday. She had gone to feed the deer at 8 p.m. Saturday.

Paramedics rushed Treat to Community Hospital and then to Miami Valley Hospital for surgery. Susan Huff, a nurse at Community, told a Clark County sheriff's deputy that Treat was "gored numerous times" in the attack. The Ohio Division of Wildlife will investigate the incident.

Authorities say the deer lives in a fenced-in area that stretches for several acres near the Treat home .

A local restaurant manager with 18 deer says it's important to be careful with the animals this time of year.

"The deer are going into their mating season, and male deer can get very aggressive," said Kim Klosterman, general manager for Klosterman's Derr Road Inn.
