This is not the answer your looking for but I thought I'd tell you how I trim shafts. ###
It may not be proper but anyway....I use a 3/8 tubeing cutter like the plumbers use on copper. ###It is a new Rigid and I only use it on arrows so it stays sharp. ###Cut slowly to avoid a burr. ###Works for me...don't know if it's a option for ya but giver a whirl...yoteee'
Try a dremal tool clamp it to a pice of plywood then use a ###pice of 2X4 witha notch in it for the arrow this will work. dremal cutoff bits are about $5.00 ,If you dont have a Dremal tool it cost about $35.00 at walmart.GOOD LUCK ###
Hey BC

The dude needs to add a picture to his instructions!!!
Here's the one I made using a Dremel, wood, and U-bolts......simple, yet effective!

I dont understand how you cut the arrow with that dremel tool. Do you roll the arrow into the saw? How does it work ? Can you explain it to me?

Fred Bear doesn't know how to use a cutoff saw??? Just kiddin'. Welcome to Jesse's, Fred.
Yes, you roll the arrow. The notches in the wooden rests keep the arrow from going too deep into the saw. You only need to cut the tubing, not go all the way through. I use a good tubing cutter with light pressure then deburr. Works OK for me so far.

jayber, that's a neat setup. Good idea.
I always cut mine freehanded with my Dremel. I'm not bragging about it, mind you, but with practice it is possible to actually eyeball good cuts that way, believe it or not.
Thank you for reading my post!
a tubing cutter wont work on carbons. I still dont quite understand how you roll the arrow into that dremel.

There's a block at the nock end of the arrow with a small "cup" in it. Place the nock end in the "cup", lay the arrow against the cutoff wheel and roll the arrow.
