Saw this ad on Craigs list for a tree stand if anyone in the Santa Cruiz area is interested. Just thought I would pass it along.

    Hi,

Just check it out. It's an extremely popular online "classified ads" website. Just like the newspaper, they list stuff for sale, personals, help wanted, etc. The first thing you should do when you go to the site, in right-hand menu, find and click on the city closest to you.

Craigs list is an on-line community that was started in San Francisco a few years back as the dot-com explosion was happening. It has grown to a very large community and has been expanding into other cities pretty rapidly but they do not have the base of people that the Bay Area does using it. It is sort of like a Jesses in a lot of ways but pretty left leaning. It has forums on various topics, classifieds, resume posting, jobs etc. It is actually the best place for apartment hunting in the Bay Area and has put many of the "apartment services", that were so common a few years back, out of business. It is a pretty cool resource but it is pretty left leaning in general, the Bay area section at least. It's a great place to go to buy things, I always check there before hitting a place like eBay.

I'm online right now with my 1 year old Dell laptop that I picked up for $400.
when I die, I hope my wife doesn't sell my hunting gear for what I told her I paid for it.
