I've been looking at the 2005 Pearson Diamondback Vib-X. It is one of the shortest bows I can find in my draw length, 32". I like everything about it so far except for the grip. I don't mind the offset grip, I just don't like that it is squared off at the front and back. It has thin wood side plates, but nothing on the back side. Any opinions on this bow or some of the similar Pearson bow?

Well, I went back and shot it and liked it so much I decided to buy it. The grip didn't bother me at all. It's not one of the fastest bows, but I'm not all in to speed anyway. The specs say it will shoot 290 fps out of the box. I figure with my longer draw length, speed won't be an issue. Now I just need to decide what rest to buy, leaning towards a drop away. I've been bowhunting for about 6 years and this is my first bow purchase. My buddy gave me his old Pearson Renegade when I started out and shot that for 5 years. Last year another buddy loned me his Alpine and told me I could buy it from him if I liked it. I figured since I know I'm going to continue to bow hunt I would buy something that I wanted. I should get the bow next week. Looking forward to finally having a bow of my own.

Thanks. Should be getting the bow in a few days. I just had the guy at the pro shop order a APA Twister Safari SL. It is a total containment, drop away rest with side load capability.
