this is a picture of my musky that I caught on the feeder river to lake vermillion in northern minnesota

it measured 43 inches pushing 44 and weighed in at 26.6 pounds

caught him on a giant black spinnerbait with two blades

one hell of a fight and quite an experience for a california boy

Good job! Will be Musky hunting in 16 days. Hope to boat some over 40" like yours. (In 16 years of Musky fishing, I have only four fish over 40".)

Congrats again, hope you're not addicted now.......

Congrats on the fish CA, a 43" fish is a respectable fish. I bet it was fun pulling on that one.

Inchr48, whereabouts are you comin up to go fish? You headed as far north as Vermillion, or are you headed back to Leech?

    James,

Actually heading to your neck of the woods, Chippewa Flowage. We have stayed at Indian Trail Resort many times since 1989. John Dettloff and family take good care of us. Come on over July 16-23 sometime and I'll buy you a Leinie.

We'll have two boats up there, so if you want to fish a day/night let me know. Hope some good smallies are hitting too.

I've never fished the Flowage before, but I hear it's real good. I have yet to catch a fish this year, but have raised about a dozen, and have hooked three. A buddy of mine has caught fish two days in a row, both 35"ers. From the looks of things I could probably make it there to meet up with ya. I'd probably just bring my own boat and whatever though. I might head over to Leech right after, on the 24th, 25th and maybe 26th.

We'll be heading home on Sat. the 23rd. Would Fri. the 22nd work for you? By then we should know where some fish are moving. You could also fish some the 23rd before heading to Leech.

    Keep in touch.

I'm not positive of my work schedule as of yet but will know shortly. More than likely, I'll have to work Friday but have Thursday or Saturday off. I'm heading out to Leech this Saturday and Sunday. Looking for a 55". It's going to take me a while, but Leech is a good lake to catch one. I'l let you know how it goes, and how my work schedule turns out.

Good luck on Leech. Got my 48" on the east side off a little sand bar called "West Bar". 2:30 PM, sunny, but real choppy so the sand was clouding the water. Black/white/red bionic bucktail by Northland Tackle. Put a copper blade on if you have some.

We saw a pile of fish on Leech the first afternoon. Unfortunately, they were all window shopping. Between my dad and myself we had 10 follows, one strike, and two misses at the boat. The second day was too rough so we hit another nearby lake and in four hours had four follows and my dad landed this 43" beauty.

Way to go! I'll take one like that any day. Ever tried Plantaganette (sp) lake, NW of Walker?

Never tried that lake. I'm on the Wisconsin side and Walker is farther to go so I rarely make it up that direction. Leech was fun, I've been thinking of heading back there this weekend!
