May not make a homebrew. Too complicated. Are there any trail cams out there under $1000 with infrared ad video clips. Im leanin towards either the penn woods 3.2 megapixel digital or the leaf river digital. Which one is better and does either have infrared?????????????????????????

Neither of those 2 models will take Ir.Your best bet is to get a d380 off ebay and make your own.Not as difficult as you think. If you really want to get rid of $1000 I saw an Ir trail cam setup on ebay yesterday for $900 and some change....

Look into a Video unit . You can make one for alot less than $1000. and you have videos .

Haymaker makes a great LANC board that will work off of the LANC port on the video camera ( no hacking ) .

You can look for threads from haymaker to see video footage samples or go to www.whitetailsupply.com to see theres .

If its really IR and 30 second video clips you want , thats your best bet .

    hey mrayrage19.

Dletho is right on target there and he's been doin this alot longer than I.

The video setups are really just plug-n-play. No hacking required. Little case work and assembly.

If IR is needed it appears that Patience has found a good alternative solution to the Nightshot and Autoexposer issue.

Give it a try. Everyone here will help if you get stuck.
