Biggest Bear Shot by Teen
CUMBERLAND, MD- Some hunters waited more than 50 years to bag a black bear, but the biggest bear of this year`s hunt went to a 16-year-old. Eric Andrews of Lonaconing shot the 8 foot tall, 496-pound bear near Friendsville on Monday.
The hunt was called off early after nearly 20 bears were killed in a matter of hours.
Officials from the Maryland Department of Natural Resources feared they`d go over their goal of 30 bears if the hunt continued.
