Saw this on another hunting forum I check out:
    http://www.nesportsman.com/cgibin/messageb...s_confighunt.pl
Well it finally happened. Last night after having seen several deer including a couple nice bucks in a field near my house the previous few nights
I decided to sneak out of work early to try to intercept them in their staging area back in the woods. There were already 2 does in the far north
corner so I tried to stay downwind and far enough
away as to not disturb them. Then it happened.
Two "ladies" in a Honda Element driving up the road decided to lay on the horn the length of the
field, then turn around and repeat while also laying out obscenities. Of course the deer vanished. After the 3rd trip by I saw them stop and turn around again. This time I ran back to my
truck and stepped out into the road. It was perfect. There was a truck approaching from the opposite which slowed to a stop as the "couple" approached me.They had no choice but to stop or run me over. This gave me the opportunity to get there plate number and a good physical description
(not a very pretty sight) of them. Perhaps a little red meat would help with that homely pastey complection. Anyway, as they drove by they taunted me with "go ahead, go into the woods." Which I took as a threat to my personal property, (my truck).

After returnig home I made a call to the
fish and wildlife office to report the incident.
There comments were that although Mass. has a hunter harassment law on the books it has been proven in court that the approach these women took
did not break any laws?? Big surprise in Massachusetts. Anyway, they said I could pursue it if I choose. He ran the plate for me and it matched the vehicle description I gave him.

I would very much like to pursue it.

Does anyone know an attorney/sportsmen who may take the case at a reasonable rate. I intend to speak to my sportsmen's club as well as the local sporting goods stores for any ideas as well.
I've attached a link to the hunter harassment law
    for reference.

I say pursue it as far as you can. Even if law enforcement tell's you that you will get no where in court, well to dam bad. Make these homely tree huggers lives as miserable as you can for as long as you can. They will have to take time off work and to go to court. they might even have to spend a night in the pokey. They will have to hire attorneys. Who knows. The time you make them spend in court might be time they would have used ruining someone elses hunt. They may get offf, but it won't be a ceke walk if you stay on it.

Just to be clear this didn't happen to me (not yet anyway). I cut & pasted someone else's post just to pass along the story.

Even if you are going to lose, if you can find a way to "harrass" them without cost to you do it. If it costs them money and time to fight their case they may just htink twice the next time. Stick it to em'

Edited" Oops just read your second post. Well I hope whoever it was sticks it to them anyway

I always wondered what I would do in a situation like that. I imagine that it would involve a lot of stealth and planning....and perhaps just a little pain!!!

If there is no "harassment" law, you could always reciprocate. Now I am not suggesting that fighting fire with fire is the ethical thing to do. But throwing a few pork chops on their front seats, or calling a door to door meat sales man to their home ( a thousand times) might get the point across.

Or maybe we'll cut tree humper's fence and let the nice deer eat her petunias and gladiolas!!! then we'll see how she feels about the situation!

Fttpow...It's in reference to that little scandal in Ohio concerning the registering of fictitious voters for payment with crack cocaine.

There have also been reports that several counties in Ohio have experienced a spike in voter registration to the point where the total of registered voters exceeds the number of the eligible voting age population for the counties in question.

Here's the post on the crack for votes story, just in case you hadn't seen it:

I know that it is good to have a place where we can vent a little and get things like this off our chest. A place where can speak out of our emotion but let us always remember that not only do we represent ourselves but all hunters and should there be any bad press we the hunter will get it not the tree hugging anti-hunters. What we say here is in print for all to see and read (both the hunter and non-hunter). Just a friendly reminder.

tyler1...this post was originally posted in the Campfire forum and then moved here. Folks aren't as uptight on the Campfire and Political/Hot Topics forums as they are in some of the other forums on JHO.

get their address, get their phone #, find out where they work.

If they want to honk horns, so can you.... day, night, etc..

there's no law against honking a horn.

    anybody get the picture?

    JDC,
Actually in many little "quiet" communities, there are laws against "Noise Pollution," and in MASS, they probably all have one. You might even get fined if your wife moans up there.

The best way to get these women back is with a "Thank You" to the editor of the local paper, decribing their vehicle and them, from a fictitious hunter who benefitted from their shenanigans to shoot a really nice buck, but unfortunately he was painfully "gut shot," and you had to track him all night, and every time you thought he was dead, you'd kick him up again, only to chase him for another hundred yards or so with your arrow sticking out, but eventually near morning you did recover him, and he was your biggest yet. Unfortunately my buddy was very angry with you "ladies," initially, but when we found my buck he thought it best to write a letter and thank you for you hunting assistance. If you could return him the favor, he would like to sit in my stand Wed. and Fri nights next week, and if you'd kindly drive by and spook the deer again, they may travel rigth through the same bottleneck, and maybe he can be as happy as I am now.

    Sincerely thanks,
    Guy B Hunter

    Send a nice

That would be my best suggestion, to get the nice "ladies" back.

I am glad that I don't live next to you guys (JDC and dmorehouse!!!). I wouldn't want to risk upsetting either of you!!

This kind of reminds me of that Soprano's episode where Tony parked his boat "Stuggats" just off of the shore of the house of the guy that wouldn't return his deposit. They put out the mammer jammer speakers and played a little Dino all night long!!

Why don't you just park your truck next to their house or in front a few nights and make their neighbors think that they're having company at night.

What they did is illegal, but since this happened in one of the most bleeding-heart liberal states in the country I don't think anything will happen to the women.

    Great White,

I am not sure where you are from, but in OH, and GA, where I lived while in the Army, I don't think they have laws against horn blowing, unless you're talking about something that one would recieve pleasure from, and may have to pay for. I don't believe what these women did is illegal, but it may, but I am sure that in the great state of MASSACHUSETTS, he'd have a hard time getting anyone to support him, that bunch of idiots have sent John Kerry and Teddy Kennedy to the U.S. Senate to represent them. They probably have laws against hunting without a trial and conviction of the animal being hunted. Kind of like So. California and So. Florida, we'd be better off if one would sink into the ocean after a nice quake, and the other would wash off with a nice CAT V hurricane.

Probably not illegal, but downright annoying. Like I said, "Find that guy and have him right a nice letter to the editor of the local newspaper." No better way to make a difference than make a change.

Dmorehouse, I'm not saying blowing a horn is illegal unless they do it somewhere in town repeatedly let's say and then a cop could possibly get them for disturbing the peace. The reason I say it's illegal in this instance is that hunting is perfectly legal and it is illegal to interfere with a hunt. I believe other people have been prosecuted for interfering with hunters in the woods. But, seeing as this is Massachusetts the women could probably shoot the hunter and get away with it.

Leave the detached, bloody, deers head in the bed so they wake up for a nice surprise AKA=the Godfather.. Or Animal House style.. There is nothing in the Ohio criminal code that would suit,,except applying for anti-stalking protection order. All other protection orders are for domestic couples/family members. I not sure about are DNR laws that would apply.
