ive been fishing puddingstone every other night and doing really well. saturday night i caught a 7 and 8 lbr, lastnight i got a 6 1/2... plus several 1-2 lbrs mixed in. if any of you guys live close, its going off right now. its free to get in after 6:30, and you can stay until 10. best baits are throwing senko's or 7 inch purple worms. fish sailboat cove and the east shore....thats where most of the fish are coming out of right now. heres a pic of the 7 from the other night.

Nice Slob, Spoony! Man....Puddlestone....I haven't heard about that lake for years. Used to waterski there a few times a week in the evening with my boat back in the early '80's when I lived in La Habra.

Glad to see you able to slay some nice Largemouth!

I just looking at a map of Puddingstone. Would you believe this is the only lake in southern california that I haven't fished. What kind of structure have the fish been coming off. Stickup? I guess I'll have to drive around the lake and see what the points and coves look like.

phil, did you get a chance to make it out there today? i was on the north shore tonight and looked for a black s10, but didnt see one. fishing was slow tonight, only landed one with a couple other biters.... some guy next to us caught a 2 1/2 lb crappie off a spinnerbait. phil, the fish are scattered anywhere from weedlines to rocky points and structures. some of the best areas are, sailboat cove, east shore(where the piers are), the north shore near the boat launch, and also the finger that comes off of the dam. the only problem is that those spots pretty much cover the whole lake. if you go in the main entrance off of via verde, you can get a map of the lake at the pay booth, also there are signs inside the park listing the different areas. i wish i would have known you havent been there, i could have given you some directions to make it easier. let me know if you want to hit it up sometime.. Scott

I fished the area on the left side of the dam(Raging River). Fishing was slow, saw a few guys fishing the finger that comes from the west side of the shoreline. The weeds along the shore make it tough to work. Interesting lake and nice park.

Spoony, thanks for the tip on Puddingstone. Maybe I'll try and give it a shot again sometime. Maybe we'll meet up at one of the refuges during duck season. Thanks again.
