Hello, ###I just got a 17 rem, model 700 bdl, I mainly hunt fox, but am hoping on calling in a coyote. My friend uses one, and gets 100+ fox a year, and two or three coyotes. I thought that a 22-250 would do to much pelt damage on the fox. It's to late, I already bought the gun, but I was just wondering what some of your thoughts are on this caliber?

Excellent. ###For fur hunting I would not use anything else.

I think that it's a much better fox gun than coyote gun but it's not too shabby of a coyote round at that.

Personally, I like the Mach IV better than the .17 Rem if you're talking .17s but either works well on foxes.

It's important to remember that there's a big difference between an 8lb fox and a 25-30 lb coyote. ###The .17s will drop a coyote the majority of the time but doesn't leave as much room for error. ###In the right hands it does just fine though on coyotes.

I think that you'll enjoy it.
