Texas Trophy Hunters Extravaganza

I took the boys to the Texas Trophy Hunters Extravaganza tonight. Here are a few pictures. I took alot more but for some reason, some of them didn't come out to good. I think I had my camera set wrong when I first got there. I was a real good boy and only spent about $50.00. I did manage to get some goods leads for traded out exotic hunts for iron work.

Some of the entries in the Big Buck Contest...




And this is The High Roller buck. It's a replica of a buck that is still alive that lives in Ohio. He's the largest whitetail in North America. He has a 10 point rack with 34 additional non-typical points. He scored gross 377-2/8 B&C at 4-1/2 years old and 366-4/8 net B&C while sedated for labratory work. He does not qualify for Boone and Crockett because he is a pen raised deer. And you can purchase his sperm for about 50K per vile.

Not sure yet Shadow.. Probably Sunday.. If you are looking to buy anything, Sunday is the day to go. Alot of those guys will be cutting good deals to get rid of everything so they do not have to drag it out of there and load it back up. If you are a member of Texas Trophy Hunters, you get in Free on Friday night....

Yea Sunday is the best day for to go. Great deals on new stuff coming out as well as the crowds are not near as bad. Friday would be OK but its a good 1 1/2 hr drive for me as I live east of Mesquite so I wouldn't get much time to browse around. We try to make a day of it in FW when we go there.

Last year I picked up a Koozy Cushion (like half a sleeping bag that keeps the lower half of the body warm yet zips up into a small cushion to sit on and/or carry). Best investment I made as I went on a hunting trip to MN for rifle opener and boy did it every get cold for this Texan... Trying to make it back up there this year had lots of fun.

I don't know what is involved in 'harvesting' sperm from that big boy, but if I had to do it, I'd charge 50k too!!

That's funny cause that's about the time we made it there. We left the house about 11 then stoped at Chili's for lunch then made it there about 1:30. Saw a couple of nice box blinds, kinda pricey though, 1500+. Had a great sale going on Justin camo boots, $39. Also picked up some shafts for the bow. Sorry we didn't meet up but maybe for the dove hunt.
