### KAMPALA, February 3 (Xinhuanet) -- An estimated 41 people have been reportedly killed and eaten by crocodiles along the shores of Lake Victoria in Uganda's Bugiri district, the New Vision newspaper reported on Sunday.
### The casualties were recorded between September 2001 and January this year, Mary Owor, Bugiri resident district commissioner, was quoted as saying.
### She said most of the victims were youth who had gone to fetch water along the isolated shores of the lake in Mutumba sub-county.
### Owor asked the Ministry of Tourism, Trade and Industry to provide them with either a game ranger or licensed officer to shoot the destructive creatures.
### "We appeal to the Uganda Wildlife Authority to help save life.
Human beings have a right to life," she said. ###Enditem
