Tommorrow at this time I will be at VAFB hunting for pigs. I am leaving at 3:30 Am tommorrow morning and will be there from Wed through Saturday. Hunting hard and long with my buddy. I look for a nice relaxing hunt, and hope to see a few pigs.

Good luck huntallday, I work on VAFB as a defense contractor. Not allowed to hunt it but enjoy seeing all the game. Weather has been sunny, and today the wind has even died down. Are you staying on the base?

    huntallday,
Good luck. There's one running around area 3 from 2 weeks ago with a 165 gr Hornady Super Shock Tip in his shoulder. Got too dark to look for him so came back early next morning. He was gone and couldn't find him. Wish ya the best.
When I found the skull in the woods, the first thing I did was call the police. But then I got curious about it. I picked it up, and started wondering who this person was, and why he had deer horns. - Jack Handey

    pbrdog,
I have found out that with 180 grain Barnes X from my .300 mag., the bullets will pass thru a 250 lb. hog from any angle. If no bone is hit, the exit hole is nearly golf ball size. If a bone is hit the exit hole is a lot bigger. The exit hole makes for good blood trail and with pieces of toilet paper to mark it, it is like an arrow pointing to the path the hog took. Haven't lost a hog yet and the smallest I have taken is a 125 pounder and the biggest is a 250 lb . Some of them run as if there was not hit. but the loss of blood soon slows them down and we are able to recover not too far away. I find an exit hole quite helpful in preventing lost game. Just my 2 cents worth of course.

    Well Huntallday,

I'm still waiting to hear if you seen or got anything up there at Vandenburg. I've shot a couple up there myself and am waiting for the heat to die down a little before I go up there again.
