    Looking for help

    Has anyone done, or know where I can find, how the little 17gr. bullet will expand/or not at lower impact velocities. I'm trying to decide between the Taurus Tracker 17 w/ 6.5 barrel or wait for the Ruger Mark III 17HM2 in 8 in. barrel.

    The ruger is claiming 1800fps, what can I expect at 25, 50, 75 yards from the 17gr. bullet
    25yards=1665 fps
    50yards=1534 fps
    75yards=1420 fps long shot

    I have read some of the articles I can find on the Taurus Tracker 17, they all talk about velocity, but I'm trying to find out what to expect from this little 17gr. pill
    25yards=2030 fps
    50yards=1878fps
    75yards=1735fps long shot

    I have seen alot of info on what the HMR (out of a rifle) will do at 25 and 50 yards. Is their any info on expansion at 100, 125, 150, 175, and 200? This would be close to the numbers listed above.

    I will be using this gun for paper, cans, crows, tree rats, ect....

    Or would I be better of with a 22lr or 22mag

    Thank you for all the help

    I'd go with the 17HMR as the 17M2 is not out and will not be till after summer time.
